We look at two plays based on Lorraine Hansberry’s classic Raisin in the Sun. Baltimore’s CenterStage is now presenting “The Raisin Cycle,” in which two plays that were written to show different perspectives on the characters from Raisin – Clybourne Park and Beneatha’s Place – are produced in rotating repertory, using a single company of actors and shared design team.
We will talk with Kwame Kwei-Armah, who wrote Beneatha’s Place and is Artistic Director at Centerstage, and actress Jessica Frances Dukes, who plays both old and young Beneatha as well as two characters in Clybourne Park.
