October 30, 2012 – Segment 2

We hear from one of the great educational thinkers of our time, Paul Tough.

Paul will be talking about his newest book, How Children Succeed: Grit, Curiosity, and the Hidden Power of Character. In the book, Paul argues that the qualities that matter most in predicting success have less to do with intelligence and more to do with character – i.e., skills such as perseverance, curiosity, conscientiousness, optimism, and self-control.
