We have our regular segment on health and fitness with fitness trainer and activist Chauncey Whitehead and Ernestine Shepherd, the world’s oldest female bodybuilder. Rhonda Silva, Division Administrator of the Baltimore City Cancer Program (BCCP) at the University of Maryland’s Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Cancer Center, joins us in-studio.
This Saturday Chauncey and Ernestine will host their monthly community health walk at Druid Hill Park. This month the walk honors mothers – both those who are alive and those who are no longer with us. “We are asking mothers to wear a church hat and men to wear a brim for our one-mile stroll around the Druid Hill Reservoir. Again, we are partnering with the Baltimore City Cancer Program. ‘Survivors’ will be there dressed in pink and wearing their favorite hat.”
