Marriage is the union of a man and a woman. It is not discrimination to say same sex couples can not marry because they do not fit the requirements. The only way to make this a case of discrimination is to change the definition of marriage to mean something different from the original meaning.

If marriage is nothing more that the union of two people in love than the definition, from a religious stand point, becomes contradictory. In one case it is a sacrament. In another case it is a sin. How can the definition of one word have two opposite meanings? Why should the state have the right to change the meaning of a word used for religious ceremonies?
