May 2, 2012 – Segment 3

Tomorrow night is the opening night of the Maryland Film Festival!  As part of our annual tradition to highlight some of the festival’s offerings, we bring you this interview with Jeffrey Schwartz, Producer and Director of “Vito.”  Vito Russo was an influential leader in the gay rights movement of the 1970s and 80s.  He’s best known for his book The Celluloid Closet, which documented the often negative portrayals of gays and lesbians in Hollywood film.
Vito will screen at the Festival on Friday at 1:30pm and Saturday at 2:30pm, both at the Charles Theatre.
