In our first hour, Marc sits down with Alec Dubro a freelance writer who recently authored an article in ColorLines magazine, "Obama’s Southern Problem-And Ours." They are joined by Kareem Crayton, who is an associate professor of law and political science at the University of Southern California Gould School of Law, and Tom Schaller, a Baltimore Sun Columnist who is the author of Whistling Past Dixie: How Democrats Can Win Without the South. The discussion focuses on the recent Supreme Court decision to uphold the Voting Rights Act and the ramifications of the decision. In addition, they discuss the the significance of President Obama’s campaign as a game changer in the way our nation views issues of race.
