February 15, 2011 – Segment 2

A bill for single payer health care has recently been approved in Vermont. Single payer health care is now becoming a heavily debated issue in Maryland, as well, and there are several legislators that are working to make it a reality here.

Our guests are Dr. Margaret Flowers, Congressional Fellow with Physicians for a National Health Program and Co-Chair of the Maryland Chapter of Physicians for a National Health Program, Sandra Schlosser, who has been a volunteer organizer with the Healthcare is a Human Right Campaign since 2008, and Bekah Mandell, an organizer with the Healthcare is a Human Right and an adjunct professor at Champlain College, Delegate Jill Carter from Maryland’s 41st district, and Senator Paul Pinsky from Maryland’s 22nd district.
