  1. How about “Museum bars rights veteran from event” (Sunpapers, 10/9) A phalanx of security bars Helena Hicks, Baltimore civil rts icon, form participating on a panel that includes Eddie Conway- because she does not agree with the panther philosophy. Somebody- and we have to blame the Director-Skill Sanders- is acting like a Bull Connors or the police chief of Ferguson and should b e fired. Ridiculous.

    What did they think she might be controversial?

    The panelists don’t look too good either, as no one on the panel mentions Ms. Hicks.
    Of course Eddie comes off as a social worker now anyway- never discussing the issues of violence/nonviolence (at least not when I’ve heard him). Who does?.
    Sad, particularly when you consider how little progress has been made.
    Speak truth to power.
