September 16, 2015 – Segment 1
We host a live interview with Ta-Nehisi Coates, national correspondent for The Atlantic and author of Between the World and Me and The Beautiful Struggle, who joins us to discuss his recent article for The Atlantic, “The Black Family in the Age of Mass Incarceration.”
Here we go again (I still have to browse Ta-hehisi’s book down at Red Emmas) (to see if he mentions capitalism)- you guys are slapping each others backs, talking fast and to my mind glib- saying things we already know- I know not every program can be ground breaking. Does not seem to be reflection, self criticism- wasn’t all this already said in “The New Jim Crow”.
The preceding p;rogram abt the article w Lenny I got the impression Marc surrounds himself with yes men and women- of course he is brilliant- but believe me, he could at least have thinkers on who move us forward- not rehash the same old problems.
America’s original sin- genocide, slavery- hey- what to do NOW? OK- is it asking too much?
I think you should have people on who are willing to shake things up- have you heard of David Swanson?
How about a show on tactics designed to win!
Of course no talk show host will have persons on to rattle his or her chains.
Let me go onto the show on black panthers- maybe I can learn something.
At least rodrix is going. Take that show back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
