June 17, 2010 – Segment 1

With Father’s Day coming up on Sunday, we devote an hour of the show to parenting.

Crystal Hayes tells us about the difficulties of helping her child negotiate a racist education system.  Crystal’s father,  Robert "Seth" Hayes, was a member of the Black Panther Party and has been incarcerated since she was three years old.

Then, local activists David Miller, Marc Clarke, and Robyn Marks talk about the importance of strong father-daughter relationships.  Join them this Sunday at the Frederick Douglass-Isaac Myers Maritime Park for a Father & Daughter Dance.

The phone number for more information about the Father & Daughter Dance is 410.467.1605.
