Today’s program included three topics.

  • The show opened with a discussion on the 2008 presidential election. Marc was joined by Anthony McCarthy, former editor-in-chief of the Baltimore Afro American and former host of talk shows on WEAA and WYPR and Sherrilyn Ifill, Professor of Law at University of Maryland School of Law amd the author of On the Courthouse Lawn: Confronting the Legacy of Lynching in the Twenty-first Century.
  • Creator of the hit television series The Wire David Simon dropped by to discuss his latest project, an HBO miniseries called Generation Kill. It will be premiering later this month.
  • An excerpt from Marc’s interview with Paul and Ta-Nehisi Coates ended the hour. Ta-Nehisi just published a book called The Beautiful Struggle: A Father, Two Sons, and an Unlikely Road to Manhood. You can hear the entire interview by clicking here.
