In the first half of Hour 2, Marc talks with Marion Elizabeth Rogers about her 2005 book, Mencken: The American Iconoclast, about the writer and critic known as the Baron of Baltimore. The interview was originally broadcast on December 12, 2005.

In the second half, Marc talks with Anthony Arthur about his 2006 book Radical Innocent: Upton Sinclair, a biography of the Pulitzer Prize-winning writer and Baltimorean best known for his novel about the meatpacking industry, The Jungle. The interview was originally broadcast on July 10, 2006.
