First, we discuss the hearings on the Defense of Marriage Act and California’s Proposition 8, which both concern same-sex marriage. Our guests are Lila Shapiro, Business Writer at the Huffington Post; and Kenneth Jost, Supreme Court editor, CQ Press, and author of The Supreme Court Yearbook and Supreme Court From A to Z.
Then, we discuss two affirmative action cases being heard at the Supreme Court this session. We’re joined by Michael Higginbotham, Wilson H. Elkins Professor of Law at the University of Baltimore School of Law and author of Ghosts of Jim Crow: Ending Racism in Post-Racial America; and Kenneth Jost.
