Beyond the Spin: Presidential Candidate Forum & Laws Blocking Hispanic Voters

September 27, 2012 – Hour 1 – This week on Beyond the Spin, we discuss the recent Presidential candidate forum hosted by Univision, as well as a study showing new voting laws may block up to 10 million Hispanic voters from the polls in November, with a panel of Latino public radio journalists from around the United States.  Our guests are:

  • Saul Madrid, Education Manager for La Campesina Spanish-language radio network based in Phoenix, Arizona;
  • Dr. Pablo Rodriguez, co-founder and President of Latino Public Radio in Providence, Rhode Island, and host of the shows Nuestra Salud, Hablemos, and El Cuarto Poder;
  • and Samuel Orozco, founding executive producer of Noticiero Latino, a groundbreaking news service, Línea Abierta, the first national call in show in Spanish, and News Director of Radio Bilingüe in Oakland, California since 1983.
