In a special archive edition of the Marc Steiner Show, we listen back to a discussion on the spiritual side of The Simpsons, with: Mark I. Pinsky, author of The Gospel According to the Simpsons; Rev. Corinne Baker from the Light Street Presbyterian Church; and Rev. Matthew Fuhrman from the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.
Marc also interviews starring voice actor on The Simpsons Harry Shearer.
We speak with Carla Woody, Founder of Kenosis Spirit Keepers – a nonprofit helping to preserve indigenous wisdom traditions – and author of Portals to the Vision Serpent, Standing Stark and Calling Our Spirits Home. Woody will be speaking at Breathe Books Thursday night. There will also be a benefit concert for Kenosis Spirit Keepers on Saturday, April 26, in Rockville, featuring Native American flute player Jan Seiden and drummer Wes Crawford.
We check in with Darriel Harris, Program Officer of the Baltimore Food and Faith Project at the Johns Hopkins Center For a Livable Future, about their upcoming series of town hall meetings, in partnership with Interfaith Power & Light, Good Food Gatherings. The first event, which focuses on Eating Well, will take place on Thursday, April 10, at Saint Luke Evangelical Lutheran Church, and will feature Dr. Jennifer Ayres, Assistant Professor of Religious Education and Director of the Religious Education Program at Emory University.
