March 3, 2010 - Hour 1
The six part documentary series Shared Weight looks at the legacy of the Vietnam War and brings into the open the consequenses of a conflict which are too often ignored. It is an attempt to begin a conversation between warriors, artists, war resisters, and Vietnamese people. Today on the Marc Steiner Show we revisit two hours of the series.
In the first hour, Wandering Souls, we hear the story of the chance meeting between two young soldiers. One lives, one dies. Their fates are connected for 40 years. This is the story of Homer Steedly, and the journal of the young soldier he killed.
