March 18, 2010 - Segment 2

Show_Has_Aired:
Show Has Aired
The Marc Steiner Show

In the second segment of the show, we discuss the decision of ACORN to shutter its Maryland offices.  The national non-profit has struggled after a scandal last year in which a conservative activist released videos which he claimed showed ACORN employees giving him advice on how to hide a ring of under-aged prostitutes.

We’re joined by:

Sonja Merchant-Jones, long-time ACORN member and leader in Maryland

Michelle Moore, former Maryland Field Director for ACORN

John Atlas, author of the forthcoming book Seeds of Change: The Story of Acorn, America’s Most Controversial Anti-Poverty Community Organizing Group and founder and President of the New Jersey-based National Housing Institute

Andy Green, opinion editor for the Baltimore Sun.  Click to read the Sun’s editorial on ACORN.
