September 7, 2010 – Segment 3

With the end of the baseball season heating up, we revisited a show from earlier this spring that focuses on African American participation in the sport.

Another in our series of Urbanite Radio Stories, the show is based on Michael Corbin’s article "Where are African Americans in national pastime?" We are joined by Mike Singletary, Executive Director of the James Mosher Baseball League, the oldest continually operating African American Youth Baseball League in the country, Toby Henson, a former participant in the league, and his son Shawn who is a player in the league.
