November 10, 2010 – Hour 1

This hour we explore the work of three Baltimore residents working in innovative ways to improve the city.  All three are recipients of Open Society Institute Community Fellowships.  Our guests are:

Jessica Turral – Founder of Hand in Hand, an organization working to lower the juvenile recidivism rate

Koli Tengella – Comedian and teacher, working with students to develop a theater and filmmaking troupe

Meshelle Foreman Shields – Entertainer and Founder of Goaldiggers: The Sankofa Project, which will encourage African-American girls to study their ancestry and heritage
