February 16, 2012 – Hour 1

Yesterday the House of Representatives held a controversial hearing about the recent Obama Administration decision that requires insurance plans to cover free contraception for all women. Some religious organizations object to the ruling, saying that it violates the separation between church and state. Our guests join us to discuss the outcry over access to birth control, as well as a trend towards state laws limiting access to abortions. Last year marked a spike in the number of abortion restrictions passed in state legislators around the country.

Joining us are:
Loretta Ross, National Coordinator of SisterSong Women of Color Reproductive Health Collective

Horace Cooper, Adjunct Fellow with the National Center for Public Policy Research
