To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the VISTA Volunteers program, we begin the week with a conversation with AmeriCorps VISTA members from Strong City Baltimore. With: Richard Brooks, member of VISTA Impact Taskforce, a new initiative formally launching next month to prevent youth violence and expand workforce opportunities for boys and men of color between the ages of 14 and 30; Noora Kanfash, daughter of Syrian immigrants, whose VISTA service is with the Baltimore City Health Department’s Baltimarket program; Tricia Rubacky, Development Director for OSI-Baltimore and former VISTA member; and Del. Brooke Lierman, Maryland state Delegate representing District 46 in Baltimore City and former VISTA member.
