We hosted a discussion and debate on a bill before the Maryland Legislature aimed at thwarting the Boycott, Disinvestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement in the state. The BDS movement is a global campaign attempting to increase economic and political pressure on Israel with the stated goals of ending of Israel’s occupation and colonization of Palestinian land and the Golan Heights, full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and acknowledgement of the right of return of Palestinian refugees. Proponents of the bill say the BDS movement is an effort to destroy Israel.
